کیرالا کے ضلع Kozhikode میں واقع کُتھیراوٹوم سرکاری ذہنی صحت مرکز سے زیرِ حراست ملزم وینیش ونود کے فرار کے بعد پولیس نے اپنی تفتیش اور تلاش کا دائرہ پڑوسی ریاستوں Karnataka اور Tamil Nadu تک بڑھا دیا ہے۔ وینیش ونود، دِرشیا قتل کیس کا ملزم ہے اور یہ دوسری مرتبہ ہے کہ وہ پولیس تحویل سے فرار ہوا ہے۔

پولیس ذرائع کے مطابق، ضلع پولیس چیف اور میڈیکل کالج کے اسسٹنٹ کمشنر کی نگرانی میں تشکیل دی گئی دو خصوصی ٹیمیں اب اس وسیع تلاشی مہم میں شامل کر دی گئی ہیں۔ مزید یہ کہ کرناٹک اور تمل ناڈو کی مقامی پولیس سے بھی تعاون طلب کیا جا رہا ہے تاکہ ملزم کو جلد از جلد گرفتار کیا جا سکے۔

تحقیقات میں پیش رفت کے لیے ان افراد کے بیانات بھی ریکارڈ کیے جا چکے ہیں جو ماضی میں ملزم کے قریبی سمجھے جاتے تھے۔ پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ مختلف زاویوں سے معلومات اکٹھی کر کے تلاش کو نتیجہ خیز بنانے کی کوششیں تیز کر دی گئی ہیں۔

Police have intensified the manhunt for Vineesh Vinod, the accused in the Drishya murder case, extending the search to the neighbouring States of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, following his escape from the Kuthiravattom Government Mental Health Centre in Kozhikode district of Kerala.

This is the second instance in which the accused has managed to flee from custody. Two special squads, constituted under the supervision of the District Police Chief and the Medical College Assistant Commissioner, have now joined the expanded search operation.

According to police sources, assistance from local police units in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will be sought to track down the escapee at the earliest. Statements of several individuals who were previously close to the accused have already been recorded to gain leads in the investigation.

Authorities said coordinated inter-State efforts are underway to ensure the swift arrest of the fugitive and to prevent any further lapse in custody.
